Pontoon installed at Boscawen Park Slipway

Having been cleared of mud earlier this year the Port of Truro has purchased and installed a section of pontoon to support the use of the facility. It is hoped the pontoon length will be extended ahead of the 2025 season with monies from the Port of Truro Reserve Account, which is ringfenced for the development of facilities at the Port. There is no charge for the use of the facility.

Adding to the new pontoon length is a lower pontoon area, part funded by Truro Canoe Racing Club, that as previously installed on the now removed lower Flood Gate Pontoon. Thanking the Maritime Manager Canoe Club Chairman Bill Sharpe said ‘I really hope that we can continue to develop this positive relationship between all those who enjoy our marvellous river for everyone’s benefit.’. More information on the club can be found here.
