Bude Sea Lock Beam repairs

During the past week our in house Maritime Maintenance team, based at Truro supported, Harbour Master Paul Vincent and shipwrights from Working Sail at Bude with replacing timber on the inner gates.

New Timber

The balance beams were repaired and two large timbers replaced, these being shaped on site. The timber used was English Oak and will soon weather to match the gates. Previous work undertaken at Bude by Working Sail was replacement hand rails also on the inner gates.
