Located at Britain’s South West tip, the Dry Dock and ship repair facilities, operated by Penzance Dry Dock (2009) Limited , is equipped to repair, refit and convert everything from small vessels to passenger ferries and super yachts, all with the same attention to detail.
Projects to date have included annual dry docking and refurbishment of the Isles of Scilly ferry Scillonian III, freight vessel Gry Maritha, superyachts Big Eagle and Lady Vista and conversion of the former Norwegian Rescue vessel Fredrikstad into a motor yacht in addition to many other routine dry dockings.
The dry dock is accessed via the Abbey Basin having passed through the Ross Bridge in a well-versed manoeuvre. The dry dock can accept ships up to a maximum length of 75 metres, beam of 12 metres and draft of 4 metres.
Alternatively, a berth in the wet dock berth is available for fitting out, completions and afloat repairs. The maximum dimensions for the wet dock are length 85 metres 12 metres beam and draft 4.5 metres. Beamier vessels will find no problem on an outer harbour drying out berth; the width is to all intents and purposes unlimited.
