New life for old lifejackets!

With our lifejackets reaching the end of their life across the harbours we upgraded to Crewsaver 275 newton lifejackets. Having collected and decommissioned the old lifejackets our Business and Compliance Manager contacted Kate of Flotsam Flo who repurposes lifejackets and other end of life items such as wetsuits, paddling pools, lifting slings and inflatables.

Founded by Kate in 2021, Flotsam Flo is dedicated to transforming difficult to recycle materials into stylish fashion items, including bags and accessories. By repurposing materials that would otherwise contribute to landfill or incineration, we’re making a tangible impact on reducing waste.

Bude Sea Lock

Following the recent sand clearance from Bude Sea Lock ‘Mantis’ locked out on Thursday 15th May. The lock is now operational until late September for local and visiting craft. Please contact the Harbour Master for more information.
