We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and experienced individual to join our team, to help develop and deliver mitigation of disturbance and damage to sensitive habitats from increasing recreational activity in the Fal and Helford Special Area of Conservation (SAC).

The role will include;

  • Design and  delivery of a suite of activities to help limit recreational impacts on   the Fal and Helford SAC, as set out in the European Sites Mitigation Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
  • Working with partners and stakeholders, particularly those in the marine recreation industry, to deliver practical action for the marine environment.
  • Providing expert information and advice on marine-related topics to the public and other stakeholders.
  • Developing, implementing, and coordinating marine education programs for diverse audiences; schools, community groups, recreational users and visitors to the area.
  • Designing and delivering engaging presentations, workshops, and events related to marine life and work to conserve the areas precious habitats and species.
  • Designing and maintaining educational materials and displays, including exhibits, brochures, and digital content.
  • Collaborating with scientists, conservationists and other marine professionals to stay updated on current research and conservation initiatives.
  • Coordinating volunteer activities and providing training on marine conservation and education.
  • Contributing to delivery of  both the emerging Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Marine Nature Recovery Framework and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Nature Recovery Strategy.

Our ideal person will be someone with a genuine interest and experience in this area, good attention to detail, exceptional organisational skills, good IT literacy and excellent customer care and communication skills.

Fixed Term 12-month, part time contract (22.2 hours pw) with opportunity for extension

Salary Range – £ £30,882-37,945 pro rata for part time hours
