The Port of Truro joined forces with neighbouring harbour authorities to mark the 80th Anniversary of D-Day on 6th June. A procession of 80 boats snaked its way around the River Fal passing embarkation points used including Tolverne and Turnaware.
Commemorative flags were also hoisted on the Prince of Wales Pier where troops were also embarked.

On Saturday 14th June Newquay Harbour hosted the annual Huer to Harbour Pilchard Run. Participants were invited to dress in shiny clothing to represent pilchards, highlighting the historical importance that fishing has had to the town of Newquay. At the Harbour there were a number of stalls, activities and food outlets for families to enjoy,
The Galeon Andalucia is the replica of the type of vessel used by the Spanish Crown for maritime expeditions during the 16th through the 18th centuries. Galleons were intended to discover and then establish trade routes between Spain, America and the Philippines islands, and formed the then called Fleet of the Indies. With an innovative
